e-PAN: How to apply for virtual card, check PAN status

New Delhi: The PAN card is one of the most important identity and financial documents in the country. The PAN is not only proof of identity but an important document for financial transactions and for filing income tax returns. In order to make it easier for people to apply PAN, instant PAN attribution through Aadhaar facility was officially launched this year.

Now people can request instant PAN using Aadhaar-based e-KYC. The facility is now available to all Permanent Account Number (PAN) applicants who have a valid Aadhaar number and cell phone number registered in the UIDAI database. Now we can also have an electronic PAN card called e-PAN as it is a valid proof of PAN.

e-PAN has a QR code that contains demographic details of PAN cardholders, such as the person’s name, date of birth, and photograph. These contact details are accessible via a QR code reader and are duly recognized. The e-PAN award process is paperless and is issued to applicants free of charge.

How to make an instant PAN request via Aadhaar based e-KYC:
