The Election Commission launched âe-EPICâ (Electronic Election Photo Identity Card), a secure, non-editable PDF version of the Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) as part of National Voters’ Day.
According to the ECI, voters can use this new digital option for the next five national elections – Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. e-EPIC can be downloaded to a mobile or computer and can be stored digitally. This is in addition to the physical identity documents issued for a new registration.
All new voters registered during the 2021 special summary review and whose mobile number provided during the application is unique will receive an SMS and will be able to download e-EPIC between January 25 and 31, 2021. Other general voters will be able to download e -EPIC from February 1, 2021, onwards.
What is the e-EPIC:
The Electronic Photo Identity Card (e-EPIC) program is a secure, non-editable portable document format (PDF) version of the EPIC. In this, people will have a secure QR code with a picture and demographic data like serial number, part number, etc.
Now voters will be able to download the e-EPIC to their cell phone or computer and store it digitally.
How to download digital voter ID card in PDF format:
Step 1: The first thing you need to do is log into https://voterportal.eci.gov.in/.
Step 2: Now click on E-EPIC download option.
e-EPIC can also be downloaded via the following online links, however, the voter card will also be sent to them: Voter Helpline Mobile app (Android / iOS).
