How to block SBI ATM debit card: Lost your ATM debit card? Well, the immediate need is to block your debit card. State Bank of India (SBI) customers can block debit cards and issue a new one simply with a phone call.

It should be noted that the SBI provides its customers with several facilities for their comfort. An SBI customer can block their debit card and issue a new one by simply dialing 1800 112 211 or 1800 425 3800.

In a recent tweet from SBI’s official Twitter account, the nation’s largest public sector bank reminded customers of the ways they can block debit cards and reissue new ones. The tweet read: “Here’s how you can block your debit card and issue a new one through our toll-free IVR system. Just call 1800 112 211 or 1800 425 3800.”

Now, after dialing one of the numbers mentioned above, an SBI customer must press certain digits to benefit from the services. An SBI client must press 0 to block the card. Now you have to press 1 to block the debit card using the registered cell phone number and card number. You can press 2 to block the card using the registered mobile number and the account number.

In order to block the debit card using the account number, you need to follow some simple steps. They are as follows:

Step 1: Enter the last five digits of the account number to block the card

Step 2: You must press 1 to confirm the last five digits

Step 3: You must now press 2 to re-enter the last five digits of the account number

Once these steps are completed, the debit card will be blocked successfully. Note that a blocking confirmation will be sent by SMS to the registered mobile number.

Now, if you want to request a replacement card, you have to follow these steps, or the customer can press 7 and 8 for the previous menu and the main menu, respectively:

Step 1: Press 1 to request a replacement card

Step 2: The client must enter the year of birth

The card will be sent to the registered address and the card replacement fee will apply. Now you have to press 1 to confirm and in case of cancellation of the request, you have to press 2. The confirmation will be sent by SMS to the registered mobile number.

If an SBI customer remembers the last five digits of the ATM card, they can block the debit card by following these steps:

Step 1: You have to enter the last five digits of the ATM card, you want to block

Step 2: Now you have to press 1 to confirm

Step 3: Now the person has to press 2 to re-enter the last five digits of the ATM card to be blocked

Once these steps are completed, the debit card will be blocked successfully. Note that a blocking confirmation will be sent by SMS to the registered mobile number.

Again, one can request the reissue of a new one by following the process discussed previously.
